Dexter St. Albans

When Dexter St. Albans was a small girl, she knew something was wrong with her, and so did her parents. July, Dexter's Mother, was a diagnosed schizophrenic who was hidden away her whole young life by her powerful, wealthy Father; so when Dexter started to 'hear voices of angels', he was determined to hide her away as well.

Dexter was diagnosed in adolescence with schizophrenia, where she has auditory hallucinations as well as paranoid episodes. Her Father, Dante, found it incredibly hard to see her that way at a young age and resolved to keep her hidden away from society as well. Dante passed away shortly there after, leaving Dex in July's custody. Fortunately, he had left them his gigantic fortune but Dexter had always resented her Father for keeping them hidden away, as if they were trash.

In late 2006, Dexter had an affair with a local college professor, and soon became 'with child'. The professor couldn't stand the idea of his affair hurting his family, and the fact that Dexter had a disorder didn't make things any easier. He soon abandoned her and Dexter gave birth to a little girl, who now is about 12 months old. Dexter named her Magdalen, after the woman Jesus loved so much.

Having been in and out of the hospital due to her disorder, Magdalen has been a ward of the state many times but is always overjoyed to see her Mother. Dexter, even on high dosages of anti-psychotics, has auditory hallucinations that she can hear angels. The angels tell Dexter of those who are after her and her baby, and what she must do to save Baby Magdalen. Dexter sometimes locks herself in her apartment for days on end, refusing to leave for fear of Magdalen being taken from her by 'Them'.

When Dexter referrs to 'them' there is no specific group of people she is referring to. As part of her paranoia, Dexter assumes everyone is after her, therefore they are going to harm her. When asked who is 'Them', she is unable to give names, or even fabricates them to get whoever is asking her to go away. The 'angels' she referrs to have two names: Gabriel and Raphael.

In 2008, Dexter is 24-years-old, and is working as a waitress in a small restaurant run by a close family friend who wants to see Dexter do well. She is slowly learning how to interact with people and ignore those voices in her head.
